Baby adores golden retriever: But he makes hearts leap for another reason

Melbourne (Australia) - This must be love! The way golden retriever Mustard stares at baby Mackenzie's ham and cheese sandwich, he seems to have fallen in love for good. The dog from Melbourne can't take his eyes off his object of desire. Even the little one seems to realize at some point that he is not staying there so faithfully because of her. Nevertheless, the corresponding video makes hearts skip a beat.

The curious clip went online on TikTok last month. In it, the girl smiles lovingly at her faithful companion on four paws. But Mustard struggles with himself. After all, his owner is standing next to him filming.

The golden retriever obviously knows very well that he is not allowed to nibble anything from the baby . But the bun smells so good. A close-up of his snout shows how much the male dog soaks up the scent of the food.

Little Mackenzie takes advantage of the situation in her own way, patting the four-legged friend on the nose several times. This must be torture for Mustard, because the girl's fingers certainly smell of the bread roll too.

Eventually, a minor scandal ensues.

Mustard gives in to his feelings and nibbles a small piece of the "forbidden fruit". Mackenzie's mom then intervenes. She warns her daughter not to put the bread roll in her mouth again.

In the meantime, Mustard's companion Honey turns up. True to the motto: "A golden retriever rarely comes alone", she also begs for the rest of the bun.

Meanwhile, Mackenzie doesn't do what she's supposed to either, but goes back to munching on the dough. In the end, her mother is just as inconsistent: instead of intervening, the Australian prefers to continue filming.

At least that pays off in the end: More than 230,000 clicks and lots of heart emojis in the comment column have since been collected.
