Escalation of violence in the stadium: Police officers beat fans like crazy
Jacksonville (USA) - The focus at the college American football summit between the Florida Gators and the Georgia Bulldogs was supposed to be on the sport, but an escalation of violence in the stands caused horror in the USA.

During the match at Everbank Stadium in Jacksonville, two police officers beat fans like crazy. One supporter also got into a violent conflict with the police officers and ended up with a bloody wound to his eye.
Videos on the internet bear witness to the unpleasant scenes that took place on the sidelines of the game in Florida on Saturday.
First, a recording made the rounds showing two officials brutally beating two fans. An older man with gray hair first wrestles with a police officer before the latter strikes the supporter with his right fist as if out of his mind.
Also disturbing: many spectators stand by and do not intervene, recording the scenes on their cell phones.
Next to them, another cop tackles another fan and punches the man lying on the ground. A woman in a blue dress keeps shouting: "No, no". Another woman's voice can be heard: "Why are you hitting him?"
Investigations were launched after the disturbing incidents, but the police headquarters is stonewalling

Another video shows how a man first argues with two police officers. One of the officers then uses a so-called Taser.
When the supporter is hit, he screams, stands up and the argument becomes increasingly heated. The police officer pulls the man by his T-shirt, then the situation escalates and the officer hits the fan repeatedly until he finally suffers a gaping, bloody wound over his right eye.
Two officers try to restrain the man, the video ends.
The mayor of Jacksonville, Donna Deegan, commented after the incidents on X : "I am aware of several disturbing videos from yesterday's game that are circulating. I have spoken with Sheriff Waters and the incidents are being investigated," she assured.
The Jacksonville Police Department also made it clear on X that it would not comment further on the incidents "until all the facts are known and the investigation is complete".
