Pueblo (USA) - A resident (30) from the US state of Colorado is currently afraid to go outside her own front door. The reason is a mysterious creature that keeps appearing outside her home in the dark. Not even experts are sure what is roaming around in the night. But the fact is: it seems to be very hungry and has no fear of humans ...

Janay Lynn first made the unpleasant acquaintance of the creature at the beginning of April: the "thing" was sitting on the street outside her house that evening.

"It didn't run away or pretend to be scared of me. It turned around and looked at me. I got goosebumps and ran back into the house," the 30-year-old recalls, according to the New York Post.

She couldn't identify the hairy, curved creature, which had very small eyes and a rat-like face, as an animal. "It has long legs and arms, is about 75 centimeters long and has chocolate brown, thick, coarse fur covering its entire body," Janay continued, describing the creature.

"It's definitely not a raccoon ," the resident is certain.

A few days later, the creepy creature appeared again after Janay had provided water and food for stray cats: "I opened the curtains of my living room and there it was," says the 30-year-old. She then tried to scare the creature away, but it ignored her and started eating the cat food.

Since no one had believed her mysterious sightings so far, Janay decided to film the animal. "What the hell is that? Seriously!" During the recording, the American suddenly noticed that the creature was "bloody" in many places. "It had eye contact with me the whole time and wasn't scared," explains Janay.

Her video caused a number of crazy conjectures on social media. Some viewers firmly believe that Janay was haunted by a so-called "chupacabra", a vampiric demon from Latin American legends. Others suspect that the visitor is a "skinwalker", a witch from Navajo mythology who can assume the form of an animal.

Some users are certain that it is a mutant opossum that was bred in a laboratory.

The Colorado Department of Wildlife, on the other hand, suspects it is a raccoon suffering from mange. "It is difficult to determine the identity of the animal with certainty," said a spokesperson.

The worried resident is very concerned about the lack of knowledge: "It's so scary because no one can say what it is." She therefore wrote on Facebook that she wouldn't dare leave the house.
