California (USA) - She could hardly believe her eyes: When a young woman recently came home with her latest second-hand find, she found out the true price of her crockery set.

But let's start at the beginning: in a short clip on her TikTok account , the user "sister.curated" explained that it had "finally happened": she had found a real bargain in a sale!

For just 4.99 US dollars (around 4.84 euros), she found a "cute set of three mugs" that immediately appealed to her.

The vessels were ribbed white and decorated with a playful blue floral pattern, which - according to the embossing on the bottom of the cup - had been painted on by hand.

"I thought: 'They're pretty. I have enough cups, but why not? I'll keep them. They're really pretty, and I like white and blue as a combo," she continued to explain to her followers.

What the American didn't know at the time, however, was that she had made a real lucky find.

As soon as the TikToker arrived home, she googled the cups - and immediately realized that her jaw dropped.

That was the name of the mug brand "Royal Copenhagen". And a glance at their website revealed what a treasure trove of gold the young woman was holding in her hands.

According to the user, a set of just two cups costs a whole 170 US dollars new in the US store. On the German website, it is "only" 119 euros for the tableware, but that is still a proud price of 99.50 euros per cup - that is, 60 times what "sister.curated" paid locally.

The user couldn't help but shake her head in horror: "That's just crazy. And what's more, the condition [of the cups] is perfect."

One thing is certain: From now on, she will probably never walk past the crockery section of a sale and purchase again.
