Woman buys picture for 2.70 euros: The true value leaves her speechless
Cincinnati (Ohio/USA) - A young American woman was recently shopping with her partner in a second-hand store in the US state of Ohio when she struck it lucky.

"You won't believe what I found at Goodwill!" Marisa reported enthusiastically on her TikTok account shortly afterwards.
She then showed off a beautiful frame she had just got hold of. It contained a simple picture that she hadn't paid much attention to at first.
However, when she arrived home, she realized that it was not a simple print, but a real painting. And so the young woman began to do some research - with success!
She found out that it was a painting by the artist Johann Berthelsen (†88) and that it was worth quite a lot of money.
After a few phone calls and steps to verify that it was indeed an original, Marisa and her partner went to an interested art gallery. An auction was soon to take place there.

Marisa gets a tidy sum for her second-hand find

In a second update video, the young woman finally reported on how successful this auction turned out for her and her loved one.
The process of selling the painting took less than 30 seconds. The buyer was found in no time at all - and he bought Marisa's lucky find for a whole 2300 US dollars (around 2123 euros).
The auction house does take a commission of 15 percent. However, the sum that Marisa was able to pocket in the end was still impressive. Especially when you consider that she paid just 2.99 US dollars (around 2.76 euros) for the picture in the second-hand store.
"You just never know what hidden treasures are out there just waiting to be discovered," says Marisa enthusiastically.
