WhatsApp announces: Next update brings long-desired feature
Mountain View (USA) - Only recently, tech giant Meta added its own artificial intelligence to its messenger service WhatsApp . But the new update aims to make it even easier for users to communicate with people from all over the world.

The news service has announced its next update on the"WABetaInfo" website. Users with an Android smartphone will soon be able to install the app version "2.25.12.25." via the Google Play Store and be the first to try out the new function.
This is an automatic translation function for messages in individual and group chats. WhatsApp uses the same technology for this that is behind the transcription of voice messages. If you want to use the new function, you must first activate it in the settings.
The user must then choose a language pack, which is then downloaded. Spanish, Arabic, Hindi and Portuguese are currently available. However, more will of course be added over time.
The translation can be done either automatically or manually for individual messages and can be customized for each chat.

Messages remain encrypted even after translation
However, users do not need to worry about their own privacy. As the chats remain on the individual devices as before and are not uploaded to a cloud or similar, this function does not require external servers.
The update is now being released and tested in stages. It is not yet known exactly when it will be available for all devices - but according to "WABetaInfo", it will only take a few weeks.
