Mesquite (Texas/USA) - Miguel Arroyo could burst with pride: His eldest son Isaac (23) has a real job for the first time. For this reason, he invites his parents and siblings to dinner for the first time. But when he receives the bill at the end of dinner, he has to swallow hard!

Dad Miguel recorded the rather shocking moment for Isaac directly on his cell phone and then posted the video on his TikTok channel. "When the eldest son finally has a real job and invites the whole family over for dinner for the first time," read the description of the clip.

It shows the whole family having dinner at the Seapot in Plano, Texas. Miguel holds the bill up to the camera and then hands it to his son. When he sees that he has to pay a whopping 330 US dollars (the equivalent of around 313 euros), his mouth briefly drops open. "His reaction was priceless," Miguel amuses himself.

After years of having to pay such large sums for his family, the father of seven children felt that his son finally realized how much these dinners cost.

"We're a big family, so it's always expensive," the American told Newsweek.

Isaac, who had just graduated from college and started working for the city of Dallas, had volunteered to pay the bill. Miguel believes his son didn't realize beforehand how much a Korean barbecue would really cost.

In any case, Miguel is looking forward to the coming years, as many of his other children will soon be starting their careers too and will therefore be paying for one meal or another. "Isaac has just started a tradition," says the TikToker.

The video has had more than 4.2 million views on TikTok and made many users laugh. One user even recounts a similar experience: "I'm the oldest of eight and four of us have already been through it."
