Sudden death at †17: "The Voice Kids" talent dies after stroke

São João Batista (Brazil) - The 17-year-old singer Karen Silva, known from " The Voice Kids ", has died suddenly.

At just twelve years old, Brazilian Karen Silva enchanted millions of viewers on The Voice Kids and made a name for herself in the music world.

Now she has died unexpectedly as a result of a stroke.

The young singer's management announced the sad news via her Instagram account .

Karen had suffered a severe stroke on April 18 and had been in the São João Batista Hospital in Volta Redonda ever since . Despite intensive treatment, she finally died on Thursday morning.

"It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of the young singer Karen Silva at the age of 17 after days of hospitalization at the São João Batista Hospital in Volta Redonda as a result of a hemorrhagic stroke," the post reads.

The funeral took place on the same day in her hometown of Volta Redonda, where family, friends and many of the singer's fans bid her farewell.
