USA - The American actress Michelle Trachtenberg has died at the age of just 39.

As the New York Post reported, the actress was found lifeless in her apartment in the US city of New York at around 8 o'clock this Wednesday morning.

Her mother is said to have discovered the 39-year-old. The film star had undergone a liver transplant just a few weeks ago.

According to the authorities, her death is classified as "not suspicious".

Her fans had been worried about the actress for several months, as she appeared "skinny and frail" in pictures she posted on Instagram . Some followers even wondered whether she had taken drugs.

In January, she responded to her followers' concerned questions and assured them that she was doing well and was "happy and healthy".

Michelle Trachtenberg was known for her roles in the hit series "Gossip Girl", the Nickelodeon show "Pete & Pete" and "Buffy - Under the Spell of Demons", among others.
