On March 3, Jay-Z filed the lawsuit against lawyers Tony Buzbee and David Fortney as well as their anonymous client.

The latter had claimed in October last year that she had been raped as a 13-year-old at a party by Sean "Diddy" Combs . When the lawsuit was reissued in December, Jay-Z was also accused in it.

The musician has since vehemently defended himself against the accusations and denied the allegations.

However, just over two weeks ago, on February 14, lawyer Buzbee and his client dropped the lawsuit .

But now Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, is going on the offensive. On March 3, he filed a new lawsuit, as reported by People.

Jay-Z has filed three lawsuits against the lawyers and their client. Among other things, he accuses them of abuse of process and is demanding compensation for damages and punitive damages.

The lawsuit also alleges that the former plaintiff and her lawyers tried to blackmail him "through a threatening private demand letter".

In addition, the complaint states that the plaintiff voluntarily admitted to representatives of the rapper that "Carter did not assault her".

She only told the story because her lawyer urged her to do so in order to maximize the payout.

Lawyer contradicts the statement of claim

For Buzbee, this is not the first lawsuit Jay-Z has filed against him. He had already accused him of defamation in December 2024. Another lawsuit followed on February 10, 2025, in which he accused the lawyer of causing him emotional distress.

In a statement to People, the lawyer said he was convinced that this case had no legal basis in Alabama. After speaking with his client, he also concluded that the quoted statements were either fabricated or made by someone else, not his client.

He summarized: "This is just another attempt to intimidate and harass this poor woman. We will not be intimidated."
