"Rain or Shine" performer dies at the age of 60

London (Great Britain) - Stedman Pearson, best known as a member of the British band Five Star, has died at the age of 60.

As the British local newspaper Mirror reports, he died on March 10 as a result of diabetes, as his sister Denise Pearson explained in a statement to the PA Media news agency.

"We are very sad to announce today that our beloved son and brother Stedman Pearson Jr. has passed away. He was a gentleman to the end - in every sense of the word - and a wonderful son, brother and uncle. May the memories and love he gave us and the world be our greatest comfort! We will miss him dearly," she wrote.

Pearson was the eldest of five children who achieved worldwide fame together as Five Star in the 1980s.

With hits such as "System Addict", "Can't Wait Another Minute" and "Rain or Shine", they celebrated their greatest successes and even won a BRIT Award for Best British Band.
