Los Angeles - Hollywood star Jessica Alba (43) has hinted at a split from her longtime husband Cash Warren.

"I've been on a journey of self-realization and transformation for years - both as an individual and in my partnership with Cash," the US-American wrote on Instagram.

Several US media outlets had previously reported on separation rumors. "I am proud of how we have grown as a couple and in our marriage over the past 20 years, and it is now time for us to begin a new chapter of growth and development as individuals," Alba continued.

The statement continued:

"We are moving into the future with love, kindness and respect for each other and will forever be a family. Our children are our top priority and we ask that you respect our privacy at this time."

Alba and film producer Warren (46) met on the set of "Fantastic Four" in 2004. Alba played a leading role in the film, while Warren worked as an assistant to the director.

The two married in 2008. The couple have two daughters and a son.
