In a video message on Instagram , the British songwriter and Swedish star producer Ilya Salmanzadeh (38) shared a first impression of his new work entitled "Azizam".

Ed chose this word for a reason. It is Persian and translates as "my darling" or "sweetheart" and is set to be THE single from his upcoming eighth album.

Under his post, the 34-year-old wrote: "The album is finished, the single will be out soon. I'm really looking forward to it, as you can see." However, the singer has kept the exact release date of the two works a secret.

After a long dry spell, "Azizam" will be the four-time Grammy winner's first album since 2023.

In 2023, Ed Sheeran released the album "-" in addition to his album "Autumn Variations", which marked the fifth and final album in his math-related series. In previous years, his albums "+", "x", "÷" and "=" regularly reached number one in the album charts in many countries.
