Wrestling star Vince Steel (ring name: "The Jurassic Juggernaut") suddenly collapsed in the ring during a four-way match, reports PWinsider.

"He's having a heart attack", stunned spectators are said to have shouted. Then the spectacle was interrupted. "The ambulance took about 45 minutes," said a shocked fan to bodyslam.net. It was far too late for the popular wrestler. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

Vince Steele was a wrestler with heart and soul. "The Jurassic Juggernaut" had been active since 2004 and quickly made a name for himself in the New York wrestling scene. His long-standing feud with Cha Cha Charlie remains unforgotten for many fans. He was only 39 years old.

The grief following the dramatic incident is immense. Wrestling promoter Brii Combination Wrestling paid tribute to Vince Steele as a passionate fighter who "left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew him", according to a statement.

Wrestling promoter CCW was also saddened. "There was no one like Vince. [...] Rest in peace, great man. We will miss you forever," the company wrote on X. Fellow wrestler Vincent Michaels emphasized, "Every single wrestler, referee and crew on site did everything they could to keep him alive."
