Los Angeles (USA) - After years of arguing, the divorce papers of Hollywood's ex-dream couple "Brangelina" have now been signed, according to the US media.

After eight years of court battles, Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie (49) and Brad Pitt (61) can draw a line under their marriage.

The actors signed the divorce papers on December 30, according to a statement from Jolie's lawyer James Simon, which was made available to several US media outlets.

Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt more than eight years ago and left all the properties she had previously shared with Pitt with her children, it continued. "Since that time, she has focused on finding peace and healing for her family."

For many years, "Brangelina" was considered the glamorous couple of Hollywood par excellence. They met on the set of the film "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" (2005) and tied the knot in 2014 at their Château Miraval vineyard on the Côte d'Azur.

The couple were among the top earners in the film industry and were committed to social and humanitarian causes worldwide. They had three children together. Pitt also took on the role of father to Jolie's three adopted children.

However, the marriage ended in the fall of 2016 and Jolie filed for divorce. She accused Pitt of being violent towards her and the children.
