Missouri (USA) - Gypsy Rose Blanchard (33) spent several years behind bars for helping to murder her mother . She was finally released in December 2023. Twelve months later, the young woman gave birth to her first child.

On Wednesday, Gypsy's partner, Ken Urker, made the happy news public on his Instagram account. He shared a picture of his sweetheart in a hospital bed. The 33-year-old is holding her little treasure in her arms, while Urker leans happily over his family.

"We welcome 2025 with the greatest gift ever," wrote the new dad in the caption.

A spokesperson told ABC News that both Gypsy and the little one were "doing well".

As for when exactly the baby was born, the pair have kept it a secret for now. According to People, Gypsy has named her baby daughter Aurora Raina.

The American had already repeatedly emphasized her desire to become a mother herself one day. Especially after the violent past she had to go through with her own.

The case surrounding the young woman is tragic. Her mother, Clauddinne "Dee Dee" Blanchard, suffered from Munchausen's symptom and convinced the girl and the public for years that little Gypsy was seriously ill.

She dragged her daughter from one doctor's appointment to the next, giving her all kinds of medication.

Only when Gypsy got older did she realize that she was actually healthy, but that her mother's actions were making her sicker and sicker. She was desperate and didn't know what to do - until she met Nicholas Paul Godejohn (35) when she was a teenager.

Together they devised a plan to kill Dee Dee. In June 2015, Godejohn put this into action.

Although the young lovers then made off together, they were caught a short time later. Gypsy was sentenced to ten years in prison for accessory to murder.

She was released on parole in December 2023 . Almost exactly one year before the birth of her child.
