22 years after Oscar scandal kiss: Halle Berry suddenly smooches this Hollywood star

Los Angeles (USA) - The kiss between Adrien Brody (51) and Halle Berry (58) at the 2003 Academy Awards was the scandal of the evening - what Will Smith's (56) whistle blowout was for the 94th Oscars! It is now the 22nd anniversary of the incident. Reason enough for the two involved to put the drama behind them once and for all with an unambiguous action.

At just 29 years old, Brody became the youngest "Best Actor in a Leading Role" in Oscar history at the 75th Academy Awards for his performance in "The Pianist". But even before his acceptance speech, a scandal broke out.

After being announced as the winner of the category by Berry, he stormed onto the stage, grabbed the actress, kissed her deeply and then said: "I bet they didn't tell you this was in the gift bag."

The action was not prearranged. The kiss became the picture of the evening and was critically discussed in the press for days. Berry repeatedly emphasized over the years that she was not angry with Brody for it.

But this year, the two actors apparently wanted to finally put the scandal behind them. Even before the actual awards ceremony started, they were reunited on the red carpet in front of the Dolby Theatre .

But it didn't stop at friendly words and gestures!

Reversed roles during make-out session

When Brody (who was awarded "Best Leading Actor" for the second time later that evening) was in the middle of an interview, Berry stormed up to him to return the favor for the scandalous kiss after 22 years: In front of the cameras, she grabbed the 51-year-old and kissed him deeply.

In this case, too, the action did not appear to have been coordinated, but Brody was anything but disturbed by the former Bond girl 's smooch.

Instead, he played along enthusiastically - much to the delight of the reporters and co-stars standing around.
