Woman waits four years until she is proposed to: Then she reveals her secret to her fiancé

Australia - Cleverly played! Keeping this secret for four long years was also a great relief for Ashton Langford (27) from Australia - because it saved her a lot of work! Her boyfriend Tom was all the more taken aback when she told him shortly after their engagement.

Throughout their relationship, the young man had lived in the belief that his girlfriend couldn't cook. The nurse had repeatedly told him how bad she was at it.

As soon as the two were engaged, the 27-year-old not only confessed the truth to him, but also conjured up a perfect after-work meal for Tom.

Langford celebrated herself in a TikTok video a few days ago. In the clip, she stands with a glass of red wine next to the casserole waiting for her husband-to-be. "Ladies, save your best game for the grand finale," the TikToker writes in it.

Since then, the video has gone viral and has now received more than eight million clicks. But not everyone is happy with the content.

Some users take offense at Langford's image of women and men. They consider it antiquated and sexist. Tenor: Why does a wife still have to cook great meals for her husband in the year 2025?

But that doesn't bother the newly fiancée. "The reaction really surprised me. Never before has a video had so many views. I just thought it was a funny TikTok , not so profound. But some people got so upset in the comments," she told Newsweek this week.

Speaking to the US magazine, however, Langford soon made another confession.

"Honestly, I wasn't very good at cooking during our relationship. But I've been trying a lot harder to make him nicer dinners lately because he has a physically demanding job," she admitted.

According to the Australian, her Tom simply deserves it.
