Manchester (England) - A woman from Manchester actually just wanted to leave her apartment. But when she opened the door from the inside, she found herself in the wrong movie.

Sitting in front of the British woman was her elderly neighbor, who was beaming with joy as she painted the door red.

The woman in her 70s didn't ask permission, she just went ahead, Lauren Edgar, the sister of the "victim", told Newsweek in an interview this week.

"She was shocked, but felt guilty about saying anything because the lady was so kind," the Englishwoman told the US magazine.

But in addition to this first, rather curious problem, there was a much bigger one. Lauren Edgar published the relevant photos on TikTok last week .

This meant that the older lady had been highly motivated, but was completely lacking in talent. Edgar's sister's former gray door looked completely ruined.

The keyhole and the apartment number had been bunglingly painted over. The paint was completely unevenly distributed. In some places it had been applied far too thickly, in others it was missing completely.

Basically, it looked a bit as if the elderly neighbor had simply dumped a bucket of paint over the door. But that was clearly not enough for the nice granny - she added more.

A few days later, the doorstep was suddenly painted a glossy black. However, some of the residents had obviously not noticed. At least that's how Edgar's sister explained the black paint stains on the newly laid flooring.

The homeowners have since replaced the front door with a new one. However, this is now also red. "I think they only did it to make her smile," suspects Lauren Edgar, looking at the elderly lady.
