New York City - Suddenly a man stands in front of you and says he has drawn a portrait of you: That's exactly what happened to Joan (24) from New York City in a café recently. The young woman, who regularly performs stand-up comedy there, couldn't believe her eyes when she saw the "work of art".

"I usually go to the coffee shop early so I can work on my jokes before the gig starts," Joan said in an interview with Newsweek this week.

The New Yorker was engrossed in her notebook when the "artist" came up to her and said he had sketched her. "I remember thinking: I wish this had happened 15 minutes later when my boyfriend was here."

The man showed Joan the strange picture, which had nothing to do with her. A woman with ample breasts could only be seen dimly. The 24-year-old is a long way from this cup size.

"I was shocked by the drawing, I was wearing three different men's shirts in size L that day. In a way, I was amazed that a guy sexualized me so much with his fantasy," she explained to the US magazine.

But the man went one better!

He asked Joan if she wanted to buy his work. When the New Yorker thankfully declined, he simply signed it and gave it to her anyway - for free.

"It also frustrated me because I identify as non-binary and don't really like to 'show' my chest," the US-American told News magazine.

In her frustration, she later posted a video on TikTok in which she presents the picture and demonstrates how little you can see her breasts in her outfits.

Nevertheless, the clip went viral and now has more than two million clicks. And Joan was also able to use the image for other purposes. She incorporated it into her comedy program on the same day.

So all in all, she made the best of the story.
