Woman checks her lottery ticket after three weeks: shortly afterwards she is completely beside herself

Christie Downs (Australia) - Most people who play the lottery from time to time hope to win, but have few illusions of becoming a millionaire that way. This was the case for a woman from Christie Downs in Australia. She had almost forgotten about her ticket when she checked it three weeks after the draw. Shortly afterwards, she was completely beside herself.

At that moment, the Australian realized that she had already been a multi-millionaire for three weeks without even knowing it. She had won 3.3 million Australian dollars (a good 1.9 million euros) in the Saturday draw of "The Lott" on February 15.

"That's not true. That is not true. That's not true," she repeated in a continuous loop after checking the lottery numbers. According to Yahoo News Australia, the new millionaire has now explained this in an interview.

"I found out a few days ago and was overwhelmed to say the least," she admitted. She practically didn't sleep the following night.

She couldn't believe her eyes, the lottery winner later told an employee of The Lott.

But what does the woman plan todo with all that money ?

"It's the perfect opportunity for me to help my family. That's what matters," she said. "It's always most important to help others and take care of family members," the winner added.

The new millionaire bought her ticket at the Colonnades Newsagency. The organizers there had been wondering for some time who the mysterious person was who didn't want to collect her millions.

Her manager Vanessa Griffin is now all the more pleased that it still worked out.

"My first thought was 'Wow'," she said, adding: "It's so exciting. The whole team was incredibly excited about the news."
