Minneapolis (Minnesota) - Her enthusiasm has been met with a lot of love: in just two days, the TikTok video by Elizabeth (28) from Minneapolis has reached 5.4 million clicks. The reason for this is the function of a strange lamp that the bargain hunter got hold of in a second-hand store.

In the curious video, the 28-year-old proudly presents her find. The initially inconspicuous object comes into its own the moment it is connected to the power supply.

Completely baffled, Elizabeth sees the lamp light up in a multitude of bright colors. But it gets even better: it reacts to sounds and adjusts its colors accordingly.

Her buyer watches the goings-on open-mouthed, unable to believe what she is getting for an investment of 14.99 US dollars (13.78 euros).

The TikTok audience can't get enough of the spectacle either. In addition to the many clicks, around 950,000 likes have now been collected.

Newsweek has now contacted Elizabeth to find out more about the lamp.

"I love collecting vintage pieces for my home, and this felt like a cool addition," the secondhand shopper told US Magazine.

"I wasn't quite sure what it would do besides light up - after all, I had found it in the lamp department. There was a tag that said 'working' and that was enough for me to put my money on the vintage piece."

In fact, the bargain is a color organ, a device that displays sounds through changing light. "When it started working, I just thought how much I can't wait to have people over," says Elizabeth.

Especially in combination with music , the light organ is likely to be a real eye-catcher for her guests. "There's so much to discover in the second-hand store around the corner. You never know what you'll find, and that's the best thing about it," says the proud shopper.
