Thrissur (India) - An action driven by curiosity turned into an emergency for a boy (12) from India , who was taken to hospital. His family initially had no idea of the impending misfortune .

As News18 reports, the incident became known in Thrissur in the south Indian state of Kerala. According to the report, the twelve-year-old had slipped a thick steel ring onto his penis while bathing, which unfortunately suddenly got stuck.

The boy was then terrified, but did not inform his parents about the unpleasant situation out of shame.

For two days, the schoolboy kept it a secret from his family, while the stuck ring caused his genitals to swell and fluid to accumulate. Little did the boy know that the longer he waited and withheld the truth, the more difficult it would be to remove the ring.

On the third day, the twelve-year-old's family finally became aware of his plight and immediately took him to Thrissur Medical College and Hospital. The doctors quickly realized that swift action was needed to prevent things from getting worse.

The ring, which was extremely thick, was stuck like a bomb. Therefore, the first attempt by the medical staff to remove it with an ordinary steel cutter failed. Heavier artillery had to be deployed!

The doctors therefore switched to an electric cutter and carefully cut the ring. According to News18, the procedure required "considerable effort" on the part of the treating doctors.

Fortunately, the rescue came in time. After around two days, the boy had recovered from the ordeal and his genitals healed.

The head of pediatric surgery pointed out in an interview how important it is to see a doctor early enough in such cases.
