Pregnant woman is asked about her age by a doctor: Her reaction is consistent
San Fernando Valley (California/USA) - Whether in the USA or Germany: from the age of 35, a high-risk pregnancy is already considered a pregnancy. Ana from the San Fernando Valley in California recently reached exactly this age. Reason enough for her doctor to have a serious word with the pregnant woman. The mother-to-be then vented her displeasure on TikTok - and responded quite consistently.

In the curious video, which has since become a viral hit, it quickly becomes apparent that Ana looks much older than a 35-year-old, more like she is in her late 50s or early 60s. But there is a simple explanation for this.
Because the Californian felt older than ever in her life after the interview, she topped it all off. In the video, Ana uses a filter that makes her look like a grandma.
"You're 31 weeks pregnant [...] and your doctor says, 'Due to your advanced maternal age, we may need to schedule your delivery'," the video's subtitle reads.
In addition to around 850,000 clicks, the viral hit has so far received several thousand comments. Reason enough for Newsweek to have its say too. The US magazine spoke to Ana this week.
Viral TikTok video plays with age criticism

"I told her that I would respectfully decline her offer and wait to go into labor until it started naturally, or at least until I reached 40 weeks," the pregnant woman told the US magazine.
She was shocked that women who are expecting a child at 35 are considered old. However, she had also received a lot of information from the other side in the comments column.
"I had an overwhelming number of comments from many pregnant women in their early twenties saying they were being treated like 'teenagers' because they were considered too young," Ana told the news magazine.
It almost seems as if the age of a pregnant woman doesn't matter. The doctors always seem to have something to complain about.
