Mother looks for sleeping baby and can't believe what she finds

Great Britain - When she saw her daughter sleeping, she couldn't sleep a wink herself. Amy Gitts (29) from Great Britain has been a mother for seven months. Five and a half months after giving birth, her daughter Mia developed the sleeping habits that caused her mother so much trouble for the first time.

When the British woman checked on her baby that evening, she couldn't believe what she saw. Mia was lying on her stomach, her face pressed into the mattress.

While the worried mother was breathless at the sight alone, she was terrified that her daughter could really be like this.

"As a new mother, I was so scared that I couldn't sleep at all. I was afraid she would stop breathing because she likes to bury her face in the mattress," the 29-year-old said in an interview with Newsweek.

As the poor mother lay sleepless next to her child night after night, she finally made an observation that reassured her.

TikTok video shows that mother and baby are still doing well

"After watching her all night for a few weeks, I noticed that she would wake up on her own when she couldn't breathe properly," Gitts told US magazine. "Now I can sleep at night because I know she can sleep on her stomach," she added.

A TikTok post at the beginning of March showed that the sight of her daughter lying on her stomach did not only affect Gitts.

It first showed a photo of Mia sleeping on her back, then an almost oppressive one showing her sleeping on her stomach. The photo show has since received more than 950,000 clicks.

Pediatrician Dr. Matthew Badgett commented on the case to Newsweek. "If your baby can turn both ways without difficulty, tummy sleeping is safe," he explained. This is often the case from the age of six months.

So at five and a half months, Mia really was in a bit of a hurry.
