Chicago (Illinois, USA) - It's always surprising what images and sounds parents get to see and hear from their child's baby monitor. Meagan Cope was completely overwhelmed when she suddenly heard strange noises from her daughter.

In a video on TikTok , the mother shared footage from the baby surveillance camera showing the little girl lying in her crib.

But sleep was probably out of the question at this point. Instead, Meagan's daughter sang the hit "Hot To Go" by artist Chappell Roan (26) loud and clear.

Particularly impressive: the little girl had only heard the song twice in her very young life, including once when she was still in the womb.

"So when she sang it for the first time in her crib, I couldn't believe it," mother Meagan toldNewsweek.

In fact, the girl's behavior can be explained scientifically. A study published in the journal "PloS One" in 2013 showed that babies and toddlers can remember melodies that were played to them in the womb.

They showed stronger brain activity to the songs played than those who were not played the songs in the womb.

Whether this phenomenon is really the reason for Meagan's daughter's nocturnal singing remains unclear. But the US-American is certain: "I think she memorizes things in a similar way to most children, but she especially loves songs."
