Mother can't sleep after giving birth despite calm baby: reason makes tears of laughter flow

USA - Whether a new mother gets a wink of sleep the night after giving birth is a game of chance. It's often the newborns that cause a lot of commotion. Sleep is out of the question in these cases. But Kaela Greening (29) from the USA had a completely different problem when she was kept awake in hospital. But many others can laugh about the real reason.

Last month, the US-American published the curious video that she shot in hospital. In the scene, her newborn daughter can be seen sleeping blissfully.

But Greening looks completely exhausted because a disturbing noise is keeping her from sleeping: her husband's snoring.

In the video, she whispers: "1.30 in the morning (...) Liam's had a really long day today. He must have worked really hard, that's why he snores so loudly."

While the mother is now also suffering from this situation after the stresses and strains of giving birth, the TikTok audience can rather see the funny side. 2.4 million clicks, more than 100,000 likes and lots of tears laughing emojis in the comment column have been collected in the meantime.

Now Newsweekhas spoken to Greening. In the interview, the 29-year-old was lenient.

She and her husband arrived at the hospital early in the morning. However, the birth did not take place until around 9 p.m., she told the US magazine.

"So it was a long day, not just for me, but for him too," the mother explained. She also had good things to say about her husband: "Liam is very outgoing, relaxed and easy-going. He was a great support to me during the birth."

Despite the difficult first night, Greening was otherwise able to give the all-clear.

"She's doing great! She's healthy and such a happy baby . Motherhood is the greatest blessing. Don't get me wrong, there are always hard days, but it's always worth it," she said.
