London (England) - This question has been making tears of laughter flow on TikTok for a few days now. It was asked by Ke'Shawn (8) from London to his mother Rochè Smith (29).

"Am I a vegan or a lesbian?" the visibly irritated boy asked her after school. Smith couldn't believe her ears, partly because her son wasn't joking, but asking seriously.

On the other hand, as she found the curious question very funny, she asked the eight-year-old to ask it again on camera.

This in turn led to the viral hit, which has already reached 3.8 million clicks on TikTok after just four days. In the video, the pupil talks about a conversation with his teacher at lunch.

It seems that a few things got mixed up. The mother was eventually able to work out exactly what.

In an interview with Newsweek, the 29-year-old clarified the situation. According to the report, the teacher had probably asked Ke'Shawn about his food preferences - a touchy subject for the often picky boy.

"He's not a big fan of the school lunch, so he tells me every day what was on the menu. We were on the bus when he asked for the first time, 'Am I gay?' I laughed," the British woman told the US magazine - and explained: "He meant pescetarians."

Pescetarians are people who, like vegetarians, give up meat but not fish. Too much for Ke'Shawn, who had apparently opted for fish sticks at school that day - which, according to his statement in the video, had been on the menu.

What ended up being confusing for the boy is still causing good humor on TikTok . More than 375,000 likes have been collected so far.

Incidentally, Newsweek has not clarified with his mother whether the pupil is really a pescetarian in the end. But one thing should be certain for now: he is not a lesbian.
