The clip, which has now been published twice, has achieved a total of more than three million clicks. In it, James Minotti walks through the hospital with his newborn in a baby carrier.

The couple from Boca Raton, Florida, are actually about to drive home. But then it happens: the exhausted father doesn't look ahead, but to the left into the camera.

Unfortunately, just at that moment, a medical van appears in front of him and he crashes into it with his baby seat. Startled, the American backs away, then the curious clip ends abruptly.

Although in hindsight it was just a scare and nothing more, Mila Minotti had to digest it first. She only found the recording really funny six months later. She finally released the video at the end of January.

Now she spoke to Newsweek about the exhausting days in hospital that ended with this bang.

She was a little shocked at first, then embarrassed because her husband had made the mistake right next to the nurses' station.

"But when they all said everything was fine, we knew it was fine," the mother of two told the US magazine.

Incidentally, the fact that both parents were pretty "through" was no coincidence. "Our son was born prematurely and by caesarean section," explained Minotti.

"It was a fairly simple procedure and we were just happy to know that he was healthy despite his small size. He weighed 1.8 kilograms at birth," she added.
