Girl issues brother contract: What she asks touches so many

Chennai (India) - A 21-year-old from India has experienced in a heartbreaking way just how strong the bond between siblings can really be.

Pradeep (21) posted his sister's self-written "contract" on Reddit.

Pradeep, who works as a software analyst, has to leave his home in Visakhapatnam for the first time for a job.

His new home will be in Chennai, almost 800 kilometers away. Due to the great distance, it is a particularly difficult adjustment for his family.

To ensure that the Indian does not forget his sister, who is six years younger than him, she has come up with something very special: young Devi has presented her older brother with an informal contract containing all the requirements that he must sign shortly before his move.

In the 13 clauses, the 15-year-old demands, among other things, 0.5 percent of Pradeep's salary every month. He is also supposed to bring her something from his new place of residence whenever he visits the family. The lower clauses even cover Pradeep's health. According to these, he should never skip meals, exercise regularly, lose weight and get enough sleep.

Above all, however, the 21-year-old should "not walk around like an idiot".

Reddit users react with emotion

"At first I was confused, but after I read it, my heart melted. I thought, 'Wow, she even cares about my health!" Pradeep told Newsweek.

"I thought the first sentence was so sweet. She told me to give her 0.5 percent of my salary. I just joked that I would have to skip one meal a day to pay that percentage," the Indian said.

Because he found his sister's gesture so touching, he quickly posted the "contract" on Reddit, melting the hearts of many users.

"I wish I had younger or older siblings," one user wrote enviously.
