Four-year-old has to live without kidneys: What he suddenly says to his father disturbs him

Kansas City (Missouri/USA) - This sentence once made movie history. Now it is also causing a stir in real life . Last month, the corresponding video went viral, in which little Beckham (4) addresses the words to his stepfather. The boy's statement is particularly poignant because both of his kidneys had to be removed when he was two weeks old.

In the video, the man and his stepson are relaxing on the couch in their home in Kansas City, Missouri. Then it happens: Beckham turns to his parent and says, "I see dead people."

That sits! While the stepfather looks distraught at the camera, there is also horror behind it. Beckham's mother Sara Collins is filming the moment.

Both adults immediately think of the same movie : "The Sixth Sense" (1999) with Bruce Willis and Haley Joel Osment. It's about a little boy who has to live with the fact that he encounters dead people every day - and says exactly this sentence.

"His stepfather and I, millennials who grew up with this movie, were immediately shocked," Sara Collins told Newsweek in a recent interview.

Shortly afterwards, they tried to find out what it was all about.

"We're not scary movie fans, so we know he didn't have access to it," Collins told the US magazine. So does the poor boy, who has been waiting years for a donor kidney, really see dead people?

Clear answer: No. His parents put Beckham through a bit of a wringer as to why he said the phrase. In the end, it turned out that his older brother had put the phrase into his head as a joke.

However, this explanation is missing from the video, which has now received 7.7 million clicks and more than 675,000 likes. Meanwhile, the viral success gives Beckham's mother hope in a completely different respect.

"Beckham is looking for a living kidney donor," Collins told the news magazine. She now hopes that his fame on the internet can help him.
