According to a report in the real estate newspaper"Mansion Global", the buildings and grounds on the property were constructed between 1940 and 1970. It was built and designed by a former set designer at Walt Disney Studios, Lawrence Joseph. He lived in the "Hobbit House" with his wife Martha until his death in 1991.

The house is located in a district of the metropolis of Los Angeles and is not far from various film studios such as MGM, RKO, the Amazon Studio and Apple Films.

Surrounded by high-rise buildings and parking lots, the property looks like a fairytale setting from another world. There are a total of five smaller houses on the 1000 square meters, in which nine apartments have been furnished. In every room, you can tell that Lawrence was a gifted carpenter and sailor. As you walk from one room to the next, you feel as if you are walking from a "Hobbit" movie set to a backdrop from "Pirates of the Caribbean".

In general, there are no straight edges on this property, everything is round, curved and crooked, including the roofs. The furniture has often already been integrated into the house, doors and drawers are not opened by door handles but by ropes and if you want to round off an evening with a cool drink, you can go to the house's own pub.

Fortunately, the fairytale house also offers enough space for a mobile vehicle. The owner has the opportunity to park nine cars in the driveway.
