The unnamed person published a post on the Reddit platform in which he reported a "crazy winning streak".

According to the post, he had won 50,000 US dollars (around 46,000 euros) while gambling at the online casino "Stake US". In a roundabout way, the information about the win also reached his sister.

The problem was that she should have been the last to know. Shortly after winning, his phone rang. The sister was on the other end of the line and would have asked for 20,000 US dollars (around 18,000 euros) for an urgently needed operation.

However, her brother said he was unimpressed and turned down the request. The reason was years ago.

The American told his Reddit community that his sister (seven years older) had been stealing from him for years as a child, even though she herself had long since grown up. "Not just small things, but she actively took my things," said the user.

As an excuse, she always had "He doesn't need it anyway" or "You shouldn't be so materialistic" at the ready. However, she has never wanted to talk about the reasons for her thievery.

"I've learned that I don't owe anything to people who hurt me - not even my family. Especially not to my family," says the American. The man wants to spend his winnings on vacations and cocktails without "family drama".

He concluded his Reddit post with a question: "Am I overreacting? My friends say I'm cruel."

People.com summarized the reactions of the community and lo and behold, many users encouraged the casino winner and wrote that he could do what he wanted with his money.
