Woman wants to test fidelity before wedding: what she asks of her fiancé causes astonishment

USA - Does she know the comedy "My Bride, Her Father and I"? In any case, Jessica Stricklin (26) opted for a very similar method to the one in the movie to test her fiancé's fidelity before the wedding. But what is meant to be exaggeratedly funny in the Hollywood comedy was taken more than seriously by the bride-to-be.

She drew up a list of no less than 30 points (!) that her fiancé had to fulfill. The last point was particularly explosive: a non-negotiable lie detector test!

Gaylord "Greg" Focker has to pass just such a test in "My Bride, Her Father and Me". In the comedy, it is carried out by ex-CIA agent Jack Byrnes (Robert De Niro).

Stricklin's future husband accepted what is portrayed in the movie as completely over the top without a murmur.

"It meant so much to me that he was willing to do it," Stricklin said in an interview with Newsweek this week.

But she also has good reasons for her extreme caution.

"I was so traumatized when I found out about my ex-husband's infidelity," says the 26-year-old. As a result, she resolved to be much more careful when choosing a husband in future. "I would never have said yes if I had known what he had done," she added to the US magazine.

Jessica Stricklin now calls herself an infidelity and break-up coach. On her TikTok and Instagram accounts, she gives numerous tips for a successful relationship. She also repeatedly addresses her own problems in the clips. Her idea with the lie detector test is particularly surprising.

Curious detail: Her fiancé never took the test in the end! "As I was visibly making progress on my road to recovery and we were making progress in our relationship, it was no longer necessary. I trust him and myself completely."

Conclusion: In the end, some fidelity tests are best served in an over-the-top Hollywood comedy!
