Woman is amazed at what strangers in the supermarket say about her big nose

Raleigh (North Carolina) - She was amazed: Caren DeCesaris (31) was recently asked about her big nose by a stranger in a supermarket. Immediately after the conversation, the woman from Raleigh, North Carolina, grabbed her cell phone to record her experience in a selfie video - the clip has since gone viral.

In the video, the 31-year-old reports that the young woman first stared at her for a while. Then they had a brief conversation. The supermarket customer first apologized for her somewhat unusual appearance and then said: "I love your nose".

In the clip, DeCesaris is enthusiastic about the curious situation. As she continues to stroll through the supermarket, she takes the opportunity to talk about beauty ideals. Her message to the others: Accept your flaws and love yourselves just the way you are.

This goes down well with the TikTok audience. Since December 9, the clip has received hundreds of thousands of clicks and more than 45,000 likes.

However,in an interview with Newsweek this week, the US American admitted that she once had a completely different opinion.

"When I was in third grade, I was often teased about my nose. I had told my mom earlier in those elementary school years that I wanted a nose job. But eventually that desire went away and I started to really love my nose," the TikToker explained to the US magazine.

DeCesaris, who works as an artist, often uses TikTok to encourage other people about their appearance.

"I see comments from people who say they don't like a feature because they feel like others are staring at them."

She continues: "I want to remind people that this perception is often our own - and just as easily as we assume someone is judging us, it's just as likely that they're admiring us instead!"

With this attitude, DeCesaris provides a refreshing counterpoint to the many beauty filters on TikTok that so many now use to prettify themselves. No wonder this counter-trend is so well received.
