Woman finds package from 1987 in the trash: She's not the only one amazed when she looks inside
Long Island (New York) - Actually, she just wanted to go for a walk. Instead, Anne Trapani made a truly curious discovery on a sidewalk in her home town of Long Island last month. She discovered a yellowed package that had been sent in 1987. When the New Yorker took a look inside, she was astonished.

The contents were untouched, even still sealed: a wedding dress. "I was totally shocked when I saw the dress. I've never opened a preserved wedding dress before," said Trapani in an interview with Newsweek.
Meanwhile, the find is in the best of hands with her. The US-American is not only interested in fabrics, she also enjoys sewing and experimenting with them.
"I love second-hand shopping and nostalgia, so it broke my heart to see it sitting on the side of the road with other discarded boxes," added the finder.
Because Trapani filmed the old parcel and herself, she was later able to publish a corresponding video on TikTok . It quickly became clear that she was not the only one who was amazed by the dress. Since March 22, the clip has received 2.1 million clicks and more than 80,000 likes.
But another curious twist was to follow.
TikTok videos show discovery and its consequences

A few days ago, the TikToker returned with another video. In it, she simply tries on the wedding dress. The amazing thing: It fits the young lady pretty well.
"I don't know exactly what I'm going to do with it yet. But I'm thinking about making a silk skirt and a silk top out of it," she told the US magazine.
However, she qualified: "I would love to learn from a seamstress and breathe new life into the dress and the fabric."
So Trapani will still need a little time and help. Nevertheless, the wedding dress could hardly have had a more beautiful second spring.
