What will happen to Kamala Harris now? Joe Biden puts his foot down!
Washington (USA) - Since his landslide victory in the US elections, Donald Trump (78) has been so omnipresent that you would think he had long since moved back into the White House. In contrast, the incumbent US President Joe Biden (82) is a mere shadow of his former self. However, election loser Kamala Harris (60) seems to have completely disappeared from the scene. All the more reason for people to ask themselves: What will become of her now?
At the Democratic National Committee's holiday reception in Washington D.C. on Sunday, still-President Biden put his foot down in this regard.
"She has always served this country with purpose and integrity, and she always will. And you're not going anywhere, child - because we're not going to let you go," said the 82-year-old.
But what will become of the Democrat, who had a shockingly poor chance against Trump in the election?
That is still unclear. According to Newsweek, however, there are several reports about Harris' plans that point in different directions.
Harris summons party members
According to the report, the current US Vice President is reportedly considering running for Governor of California in 2026. However, that would be a major step backwards.
There are therefore rumors that she - like Trump after his election defeat - wants to make another attempt at the presidency in 2028.
Given the various options, Harris' advisors are said to be torn. Politico recently reported that the vice president is currently keeping all options open and is expected to weigh them over the holidays.
Meanwhile, at Sunday's event, Harris called on all party members not to be discouraged by the defeat: "Let us always remember that our country is worth fighting for and that our fighting spirit will not be defeated. And I promise you that I will be with you every step of the way!"
But where exactly this path will lead is unfortunately uncertain.
