Tourist wants to take a selfie and falls from a moving train - dead

Sri Lanka - Death drama on a dream vacation. A tourist in Sri Lanka died in tragic circumstances while trying to take a selfie. The woman leaned out of a train and fell.

For many tourists, a trip on the "Podi Menike" express is simply part of a successful Sri Lanka vacation. Many take the opportunity to take spectacular snapshots on the "most beautiful railroad line in Asia".

Now there has been a terrible accident on the picturesque railroad line, reports LNW. Tourist Olga Perminowa (†53) posed happily in her pink dress, leaned casually out of the leisurely moving train and allowed herself to be photographed. A few seconds later, the fun-loving grandmother from Moscow was dead. She died while trying to take a selfie.

According to what is known, Olga was so busy with her smartphone that she overlooked a rock at the side of the track. The 53-year-old suffered terrible head injuries and fell from the train.

Olga Perminowa was immediately taken to Badulla Teaching Hospital, but by then it was already too late. The doctors fought desperately for her life. But the Russian woman died in the emergency room.

The accident victim was traveling with a twelve-person tour group to the South Asian island state to get to know the country and its people. On the morning of the day of the accident, she boarded the narrow-gauge train in the capital Colombo. The train was due to reach Badulla station in the center of the country in the evening - but Olga never made it there.

Deadly selfie accidents happen again and again. In October , German tourist Tobias F. (†35) fell from a vantage point in Colombia. Before that, a Chinese tourist had an accident on the Ijen volcano in Indonesia - the woman fell into the crater and died instantly.
