The Duchess announced this on her brand new Instagram account. In an emotional video, she showed some beautiful moments that the little family has experienced with the four-legged friend.

Her tribute to the adopted beagle also included rare pictures of the Sussex offspring Prince Archie (5) and Princess Lilibet (3).

One clip showed the young prince holding Guy on a lead as he ran to his dad for donkey petting.

The picture with the three-year-old stood out in particular: together with her mother, she sat on a picnic blanket and gazed into the distance while three dogs - including the now deceased beagle - lay around her.

Prince Archie (5) became a father to Prince Harry (40) in 2019.

At the end of the video, the voices of the two children could even be heard singing with Meghan about how much they loved their dog.

"In memory of Guy. [...] He was with me on 'Suits', when I got engaged (and then married), when I became a mom, he was by my side through everything: the calm, the chaos, the serenity, the comfort. [...] Thank you for so many years of unconditional love, my sweet Guy," the Duchess said.

In the caption, the 43-year-old drew attention to the importance of adoption. She herself rescued the four-legged friend from a killing station just a few days before he was due to die.
