Plane with more than 100 people on board crashes

Aktau (Kazakhstan) - An Azerbaijan Airlines passenger plane crashed over Kazakhstan on Wednesday on its way from Baku to Grozny in Russia.

The plane that crashed belonged to Azerbaijan Airlines.

As the news agencies AFP and APA both report, the Kazakh Ministry of Transport reported the accident on Telegram.

More than 100 people are said to have been on board.

"An aircraft traveling on the Baku-Grozny route crashed near the city of Aktau. It belongs to Azerbaijan Airlines," it said.
