Owners want to euthanize Border Collie puppies, but things turn out very differently

Phoenix (Arizona/USA) - They demanded a quick end: when the owners of Border Collie Ollie went to a veterinary clinic in Phoenix, Arizona, last month, they wanted him to be euthanized. The reason: the eight-week-old puppy's right hind leg had been literally shattered in an accident with a horse. But the vets were not so quick to give up - shortly afterwards it became heartbreaking.

The team was unable to help the dog. But they were in contact with the Sky Sanctuary Rescue. This other veterinary clinic had the capacity to save the poor four-legged friend from death.

So Ollie was handed over to the doctors there, who unfortunately had to make a sad discovery: the puppy's leg could no longer be saved and had to be amputated immediately.

The veterinary clinic posted a video on Instagram on December 1 showing the puppy's story. In the clip, the cute furry friend is brought into the operating room and put under anesthesia.

After the successful operation, a member of staff is shown smiling with the still sleeping Ollie in her arms.

So the little dog has survived the worst. But what happens now?

"Now Ollie needs a forever family! Border Collies are loyal, brilliant and thrive with structure, training and lots of activity," the team writes alongside the Instagram clip.

And further: "If you're ready to give this sweet boy the home he deserves, apply via the link in our bio. Share it to help us find the perfect home for Ollie!"

Since its release, the video has become a viral hit. Many people feel for the poor dog.

In total, the story has received two million clicks and more than 65,000 likes. Unfortunately, Ollie doesn't yet have a home in sight.
