Mourning for the creator of "Thomas the Tank Engine": she died at the age of 81!
USA - Britt Allcroft, the creator of the popular children's series "Thomas the Tank Engine", died last month at the age of 81.
Filmmaker Brannon Carty announced the sad news this Friday on the X platform .
"Over the years that we got to know Britt, we developed a close bond (...) It was truly a privilege to have her as both a mentor and a friend," Carty said.
He added: "I think I can speak for the entire fan base when I say that we will all miss her dearly. Without her, so many of us would never have met."
Britt Allcroft created the popular series in the 1980s and made children around the world laugh.
She tried her hand at directing in the late 1990s and early 2000s, but only directed four projects - three of which were spin-offs of the show.
