Mother sits with son (3) in the plane: Shortly after take-off, the unthinkable happens to her

USA - "I knew we were in trouble," is how Chloe Joy Sexton sums up a more than unpleasant experience with her son Theo (3). The US-American was recently on a domestic flight to Florida with the little one, her two other children and her husband, which became bumpy shortly after take-off.

"Our flight had turbulence on take-off, which wasn't severe, but definitely not mild," the mother of three explained in an interview with Newsweek.

Her three-year-old turned to her and said: "Mommy, my tummy hurts." Then it happened: Theo threw up - and completely on his mommy.

"For the first time in my traveling life, I didn't take a spare outfit for myself," says Sexton. The reason: "This was our first proper family vacation, and I had more in my hand luggage to entertain three children than for myself."

In the end, the family had no choice but to ask the flight attendants for help.

"We explained to the flight crew what had happened and they brought napkins and a big trash bag. I scraped off as much of the mess as I could while my husband retched next to me," Sexton said. He then put Theo's baby blanket on her lap.

The little one was better shortly afterwards. Because his mother at least had an outfit for him in her hand luggage, he was able to change quickly on the plane.

She didn't have much choice but to breathe through her mouth and listen to a podcast for the rest of the flight. Fortunately, the plane landed after 90 minutes for a stopover.

In that short time, the parents rushed through the Atlanta airport until Sexton had a fresh pair of leggings on - for 110 US dollars (about 101 euros). Nevertheless, she can take something positive from the story. "Nobody wants to see that my life is perfect. Everyone wants to see that I'm struggling too," explained the family woman.

Accordingly, she published a curious video on TikTok in which she recounts the incident. Since last week, Sexton has garnered three million clicks - at least a small consolation.
