Jessica Johnston, who is expecting her second child, had taken a big step with her 22-month-old son Archie: The soon-to-be big brother had moved from his crib into his own little bed.

This is exactly where the boy was supposed to take his daily nap. After Jessica had laid him down and left the room, the 30-year-old switched on the baby monitor.

As the new bed was now at ground level and without bars, the toddler was able to move in and out independently. This was exactly what caused mother Jessica to panic.

When she looked at the device 10 minutes after leaving the nursery, there was no sign of her son. The 30-year-old immediately ran upstairs to look for the little one.

"I panicked," she recalls, according to Newsweek. "I ran up the stairs so fast. I'm also seven months pregnant, so my emotions were all over the place."

While she searched the room and looked in every corner, one person was oblivious to all the commotion: Son Archie. The one-year-old was slumbering peacefully - but not in his new bed.

Jessica found the boy in a narrow gap between the bookshelf and the crib. Archie slept there sitting up as a matter of course. "He was snoring," said his mother.

Of course, the US American had to capture her discovery on video and initially filmed the room and the empty bed until she finally panned to her slumbering son.

Her viewers on TikTok could hardly contain their laughter. "Looks totally comfy 😂", jokes one user. Another explained with a shrug: "At least he's sleeping."

Jessica revealed that switching to the big bed was quite a challenge for her son. "He thought it would be round-the-clock playtime." After about two weeks, however, the boy eventually got used to the new sleeping environment.
