Mental problems lead to murder: Man stabs family, including baby and child!

USA - It is an incredibly cruel act that took place a few days ago: a man stabbed his family members to death, including a one-year-old baby and a ten-year-old child.

Last Thursday, police were called to a house in the US state of Louisiana.

As People reports, investigators found three bodies - including the two children and a 40-year-old woman. It quickly became clear that all three victims had been stabbed to death.

The victims were later identified as Rhonda Powell, her ten-year-old son Braylon and her one-year-old nephew Hayden.

Thanks to a quick investigation, police were able to arrest 31-year-old Ryant Jones as the suspect. He was charged with three counts of premeditated murder.

In a GoFundMe campaign , the 40-year-old victim's cousin claims that Jones was experiencing a "mental episode" at the time of the crime and already had a history of schizophrenia.

"Just the day before, he had been taken to a medical center and given new medication. Unfortunately, the help he needed came too late to prevent this tragic outcome," the appeal for donations reads.

The doctors had refused to give him an injection, which had always helped him, and instead only gave him a pill.

Powell's cousin added: "No one in this household survived because the mental health system failed him. Had he been committed, he would be where he belongs today and my family members would still be alive."

The exact connection between Ryant Jones and the three victims is still unknown.
