Malibu (USA) - Numerous stars have been affected by the huge fire disaster in California. Oscar winner Mel Gibson's (69) house also fell victim to the flames. He sees it with humor, but chooses a questionable comparison.
"It's the perfect storm, the perfect firestorm. My home looked like Dresden," the 69-year-old told US broadcaster"NewsNation".
"At least I don't have any more of those annoying plumbing problems," Gibson tried to take it easy.
According to the actor, he was in Austin to record a podcast with Joe Rogan (57) when the fire reached his home in Malibu near Los Angeles.
His chickens survived: "They weren't fried chickens," said Gibson. He had lived there for 14 to 15 years. "The good news is that the people in my family and the people I love are okay."
Numerous stars affected by the flames
Gibson is not the only star affected by the huge fire disaster. According to reality star Paris Hilton (43), she had to watch on television as her house fell victim to the devastating fires near Los Angeles.
Singer Bill Kaulitz (35) also had to leave his home due to the fires. The Tokio Hotel frontman revealed this in an Instagram story.
At least ten people have died in the wildfires so far. US President Joe Biden (82) described the fires as the worst in California's history.
It looks as if "an atomic bomb has been dropped in these areas", said Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna about the situation in the affected regions.
