Man receives photo of his Amazon parcel: When he takes a closer look, he is struck by the blow
Florida (USA) - Many Amazon customers are now familiar with this game: Suddenly, an email pops up informing them where the delivery person has left their package. In some cases, this drives the recipient to white heat because the goods have been placed far too insecurely and could therefore easily be stolen. In the case of Jason from Florida, however, it was exactly the opposite.
He also recently ordered something from Amazon. "I was at work when I got the notification that my package had been delivered and I just opened the app," said the US American in an interview with Newsweek this week.
At first, he only glanced at the photo of the delivery person. But when he really looked, he was struck by the shock - his front door was wide open!
After the initial shock, Jason quickly calmed down: "I was a bit worried. But I thought it was more funny than anything else. Because my flatmate only goes to work for a few hours before I get off work. So the door couldn't have been open for long."
Nevertheless, some questions remain unanswered: firstly, why the front door was not locked, and secondly, whether someone had gained access to the house.
Jason shares curious story on Reddit
In an interview with the US magazine, Jason blamed his roommate: "I'm not sure exactly what happened. But most likely my roommate was in a hurry to get to work or something and just didn't close the door properly."
In the end, Jason wasn't in a hurry to get home. As he has a fairly short commute to work and his end of the day was just around the corner anyway, the man took the extra risk.
When he finally arrived home, his recklessness was rewarded. Because presumably no one had broken into the house.
In any case, according to Jason, nothing had been stolen. His Amazon parcel was also still in the same place.
Last week, he posted the curious story on Reddit, where it was very well received.
