Luxury turns into a fight for survival: ex-manager begs to go home again

Cebu (Philippines) - A former top manager from Great Britain gave up his life of luxury for love - now he is fighting for survival in the Philippines!

What began as a romantic new beginning turned into Conan White's worst nightmare.

As Daily Mail reports, he moved to South East Asia in 2018 full of hope to start a new life with his partner - but everything turned out differently.

His girlfriend attacked him with a knife, whereupon the police demanded money to investigate her instead of helping him.

Because he didn't pay, he was left unprotected and fled to the slums of Cebu, badly injured. There he lives in a dilapidated, rat-infested hut - with no help and no prospects. In the midst of these terrible conditions, he even contracted mpox (monkeypox).

But fate struck again: Conan broke his foot in a bad fall and had himself treated in a private clinic.

The next catastrophe followed, as the doctor is said to have deliberately mutilated his foot in order to extort more money from him.

As a result, the wound became infected and since then he has suffered unbearable pain and is completely immobile.

Without the ability to move or obtain food, the 60-year-old is now in danger of starving to death while his health is rapidly deteriorating.

The British Embassy does not provide any real help

His last hope was the British embassy, but it let him down bitterly. Instead of immediate help, he was asked to visit various departments and fill out paperwork. This is currently an impossible task for Conan, who has neither the money nor the strength to walk even a few meters.

Trapped in the jungle, the 60-year-old feels hopeless. But he refuses to give up!

In his hopeless situation, he launched a fundraising campaign in a desperate attempt to raise enough money to finally return to the UK. So far, he has raised around 1479 pounds (about 1763 euros).
