In search of Bigfoot: Two men find death!
Seattle - Two men have lost their lives inthe USA while searching for the mythical creature Bigfoot .
Myths have been swirling around the giant forest dweller for more than a century. A number of videos of alleged sightings and footprints left behind by the hairy creature are circulating online. So far, there is no proof of its existence.
But like the Loch Ness monster, the legendary creature casts a spell over many people - in this case with fatal consequences.
Two men (59, 37) set off in search of "Sasquatch" in a huge forest in the US state of Washington over the Christmas holidays, as the local police announced on Facebook. "Sasquatch" is another name for Bigfoot and translates roughly as "hairy giant".
The two adventurers had actually planned to return from their search on Christmas Eve. When they didn't turn up, family members alerted the police.
A three-day search began - and was to bring sad certainty.
Cold death in the forest: Bigfoot hunters were ill-prepared
On Saturday, the two men were found dead in the middle of rough terrain in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
However, they were not mauled by Bigfoot, but by the cold. According to the police, the men were ill-prepared for the winter weather conditions in the cold north-west of the United States.
They died as a result of hypothermia.
Whether they had the chance to actually find Bigfoot before their agonizing deaths is highly unlikely.
