The two men, aged 53 and 59, usually spend their time at the airport, but on Easter Sunday they decided to go to sea.

As Mallorca Magazine reports, they stole the sailing yacht "Peregrin Tuk" from the port of Can Pastilla near Playa de Palma.

It is still unclear how the homeless people gained access to the marina. However, after it became clear that the boat had disappeared, it was reported stolen to the Guardia Civil.

With the help of social media and reports from eyewitnesses, the port authority hoped to find clues as to the whereabouts of the boat.

However, the two thieves were already on the open sea at the time, allegedly heading towards the neighboring island of Cabrera.

The boat thieves suddenly found themselves in distress on the morning of Easter Monday, whereupon they made an emergency call and led the authorities straight to them. The two men are said to have been visibly relieved when the water police rushed to their aid.

The two homeless men were arrested while still on board and the "Peregrin Tuk" was towed to a nearby port.
